February is for Finishing, My First FO

So, a bunch of my crafty brethren have been getting the finishitis bug lately. I blame Punxsutawney Phil. He makes people itchy for the end of things.
As this is a bug I am very susceptible to, I wasn't sure I'd be able to play along. I just don't leave that many UFOs sitting around. But I do have a few truly ancient projects that I need to grit my teeth and finish. Maybe this is the kick in the pants I've been needing.
My first finished object, however, is cheating. I started these socks on Monday. Not exactly ancient times.
Plain toe-up socks, Merino pur superwash from handgefaerbt.com, colorway: Dwarf Forge

The yarn (and the pair of socks) belongs to my sister. She made herself a pair of socks and promptly left them in Rhinebeck. (Situational irony!) She gave me the leftover yarn to use in my sock yarn blanket, but after I knit one square I weighed it and thought I could get another pair of short socks out of it. Turns out I could get another pair of regular socks out of it. Well done, monster skein of yarn. Well done.

Hmm

Oh, why is this here?
